Press release
French General
Election
The Occitan Nation Party and its East-Provence-Alpine country-Niçard country committee give their support to the Corsican-Occitan candidacy of Alix
Horsch-Filippi, put up by Femu a Corsica and her deputy Gregorio Gobbi, supported by the Occitan Party in the 2012 General election, in
the first constituency of Alpes-Maritimes (cantons of NICE I, II, III, IV, VIII, XII). It is the department’s sole Occitan democratic and republican candidacy and it is independent from French
political parties. It is positive for the future of our region and its people to help them be able to live and work at home and for a sustainable economic, environmental and cultural development.
Moreover, the Occitan Nation Party calls on all the people who wish to give a future to Occitan, the language of Joseph Garibaldi, the hero of two worlds, and Frederic Mistral,
Nobel prize-winner in 1904, in its Nissart, Gavot or Provencal varieties in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and the South of the Rhône-Alpes region, to support and to vote for this
candidate and her deputy.
On account of its involvement in the radical reform of the Occitan movement and in its concern to show open-mindedness and solidarity, the Occitan Nation Party also supports the
other candidacies of Occitan activists, especially the candidacies put up by the Occitan Party in a number of Occitan departments.
