Barcelona, Visca la republica de Catalonha e Aran

A Barcelona, lo Parlament catalan ven de proclamar l’independéncia.

Lo Partit de la Nacion Occitana apròva sens cap de reserva aqueste acte fòrt e coratjos.

Las empachas a l’independéncia e a la creacion vertadièra d’aquesta republica catalana son nombroses.

La magèr part dels Catalans ostils a l’independéncia votèron pas lo jorn del referendum del 1^er octobre.

Lo Senat espanhòl a la demanda del primier menistre, Mariano Rajoy, ven de votar la mesa jos tutela de la Generalitat, çò que vòl dire que l’autonomia es jospenduda, que los bailes  catalans seràn destituits e benlèu empresonats per sedicion, e que la television e los medias catalans seràn badalhonats.

Es probable que lo govern espanhòl jos-estima lo sosten a l’independéncia en çò dels Catalans, e son intransigencia aura bravament contribuit a lo far crèisser.

Se los Catalans se mobilisan tròp per carrièras, se pòt pas malurosament fòrabandir l’idéa que la policia e l’armada espanhòlas intervendràn, çò que mostrariá la cara vertadièra de la « democracia » espanhòla, malgrat las injonccions de l'UE de far pas usatge de la violéncia.

La novela republica serà pas reconescuda per Espanha, per l’Union europenca ni per un nombre significatiu de paises sòcis de l’ONU.

Es pr’amor d’aquò que, pel moment son existencia demorarà simbolica.

Totun, los independentistas catalans auràn pres data. Las forças favorablas a l’estatu quo territorial en Euròpa riscan de trionfar provisòriament malgrat lo dreit, reconescut  internacionalament, dels pòbles a s’autòdeterminar.

Lo Partit de la Nacion Occitana, qu’es per l’independéncia d’Occitania, saluda lo vòte del parlament catalan, pòrta lo seu sosten frairenal als independentistas catalans e los encoratja  a perseguir dins lor luta pacifica contra l'Estat espanhòl dictatorial.

Tard o d’ora, e benlèu plan mai d’ora que çò que se pensa, la republica de Catalonha e d’Aran s’impausarà a Espanha e al demai del monde. Sempre endavant !

Long live the republic of Catalonia and Aran!
 

In Barcelona, the Catalan Parliament has just declared independence from Spain.

The Partit de la Nacion Occitana unreservedly approves this strong and courageous action.

The hurdles on the way to independence and the effective creation of this Catalan republic are numerous.

Most of the Catalans  who oppose independence did not vote in the referendum of 1st October.

The Spanish Senate on the request of the prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, has just decided by a vote to allow the government to seize control of the Generalitat, which means that self-government is suspended, that Catalan rulers are going to be relieved of their duties and perhaps jailed for sedition, and that Catalan television and media will be muzzled.

The Spanish government probably underestimates the support for independence among the Catalans that its uncompromising attitude contributed to increasing.

If the Catalans hugely demonstrate in the streets against the Spanish government, an intervention by the Spanish police and army is unfortunately not to be ruled out, which would show the true face of Spanish « democracy », even though the EU recommended not to use violence.

The new republic will be recognized neither by Spain, nor the EU, nor by a significant number of UN members.

Its existence will therefore remain symbolic for the time being.

Nevertheless, Catalan independentists wil have marked a milestone. The forces that favour a territorial status quo in Europe are likely to prevail provisionally in spite of the internationally recognized right of peoples to self-determination.

The Partit de la Nacion Occitana, which advocates the independence of Occitania, lends its friendly support to Catalan independentists and encourages them to persevere in their peaceful fight against the dictatorial Spanish state.

Sooner or later, and maybe sooner than expected, the republic of Catalonia and Aran will impose itself upon Spain and the rest of the world. Sempre endavant ! (always ahead !)
